MultiTravel
MultiTravel was founded in 2002 with the intention of creating a service full of character and personality.
Having always been passionate about bicycle touring and especially mountain biking, this was to be the solid foundation upon which I would build the rest of my small but robust empire.
I found that travelling was a fantastic way to discover the world, and bicycle touring allows us to observe it all from a different perspective, bringing out the adventurer in us at whatever level we see fit.
Initially providing Bike Hire and Delivery, MultiTravel has progressed to supplying Tour Logistics for all your independant cycling holidays, such as route planning, luggage transfers, roadside assistance. Being dedicated to providing a service that is complete in every way, MultiTravel goes out of its way to ensure that our customers' expectations are
completely satisfied.
Bike Bus
Bike Bus has always been a name associated with our company, it has a good ring to it and perfectly describes the services that we offer. There has been some confusion however as to where it fits in. For the last 6 years, it has appeared as the name of our minibus and on our advertising brochures, and since 2003 our company been registered in France under the joint name 'MultiTravel - Bike Bus'.
This year however, Bike Bus becomes a company in its own right, supplying all the services in the Dordogne that we have always done. MultiTravel however, is now registered in England as a separate limited company and will be the front line for all the reservations and advertising. This move has come about to allow the company to expand without sacrificing the flexibility of small company status.
JOEL
After having studied engineering at Sheffield Hallam University, but finding no passion in the work I did with it thereafter, I decided to make a break for it and take the first job that came along in a foreign country.
This is how I first discovered the Dordogne in 1999 working for a small travel company specialising in independant holidays. I was instantly immersed in a way of life that challenged any preconceptions that I had about my future career. I soon came to realise that it was all about doing what feels right, following my instincts, taking risks on every level and inventing a new horizon everyday.
Despite the inevitable challenges of the blinkered bureaucracy over here, I enjoy immensely the thrill of running my own business in such a beautiful part of the world. All our customers have been such wonderful and interesting characters and I love taking the time to chat at every opportunity.
KATE
I have trained for many years as a professional Instrumentalist (Violin, Sax, Clarinet, Flute to name but a few) and also as a Complementary Therapist, but then I met Joel in 2000 and my life was fair turned upside down.
At every opportunity I hopped over to France, until finally I fell in love with Joel and his Dordogne life, and so decided to stay forever. We were married in May 2006. I like to think that we complement each other. I regularly tumble off my bike and Joel can't play a tune.
